The International Student Program for School District 73 is looking for families to host International students. The students will attend secondary schools in Kamloops and will stay for 1 or 2 semesters starting September 2018. Our host families are asked to provide a welcoming home, food and a positive English speaking environment. The compensation is $825 per month. Merritt public health staff will be joining our Kindergarten class on Thursday May 17th, 2018 to perform vision screenings.
You will receive your child’s results on the day of screening. If there are any concerns with your child’s vision, a letter will be sent home with information on what further follow-up is required.

SOGI Parent Resources: Student safety and wellness is a priority for the Ministry in its efforts to improve student outcomes. The BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils, with support from the Ministry, is pleased to release new SOGI 1 2 3 resources for parents. There is an informative Parent SOGI-Inclusive Education PowerPoint, and two new videos - one for Elementary parents and one for Secondary parents. On May 8th and 15th we have a lacrosse instructor coming out to Logan Lake Elementary school to provide each class with two lacrosse lessons.
The school will cover part of the cost however there will be a $2.00 enhancement fee for the program. Please send your child with $2.00 to give to their teacher by Monday April 30th.
